ja, die Gentoo Livecd hat viele Treiber nicht .. unter anderem
aufgrund dessen, dass dort nur "stabile" Treiber integriert werden.
Aber man braucht die Gentoo livecd gar nicht zum installieren ..
Es ist in der Regel besser eine Livecd zu nehmen die einem gut
gefällt. Ich nehme zum Beispiel immer Kanotix zum installieren, das
auf dem Linuxtag verteilt wurde.
Das, was du bei der Installation von Gentoo brauchst, sind die
stage-tarballs. <<Die packst du dann einfach aus.
Beschrieben ist das ganze für knoppix-ähnliche Systeme hier:

Nach der Installation kannst du dann Problemlos ~x86 Pakete einspielen
und deine Hardware zum laufen bekopmmen.
