i've been trying to checkout portage-x86 for a couple days now and i'm
 having some problems.

 cvs checkout: in directory gentoo-x86/dev-util/cvs:
cvs checkout: cannot open CVS/Entries for reading: No such file or
 directory
 cvs server: Updating gentoo-x86/dev-util/cvs
 U gentoo-x86/dev-util/cvs/ChangeLog
cvs [checkout aborted]: cannot open CVS/Entries.Log: No such file or
 directory

when cvs gets to the "cvs package directory" it craps out on me. can
anyone figure out why this is happening?

 thanks,
 ct

odd ... works just fine over here ...
what if you `rm -rf dev-util/cvs` and do an `cvs update` from the dev-util dir
?

Do you have CVS access? IIRC anonymous CVS access has been removed
again.
