Hi all,
the first fully functioning version of the sandbox is done. With the
help of Azarah it's been integrated into portage. Just untar this
archive in /usr/portage and 'sys-apps/sandbox' should appear. A regular
emerge installs it. From then onwards, all ebuild unpack, clean, compile
and install phases will be protected. Don't be startled when you
suddenly get the occasional red 'ACCESS DENIED' error on your screen. A
number of packages that are actually in portage don't behave exactly as
they should. To get them installed, of course fixing the package is the
best option. You can also opt to uninstall the sandbox with 'ebuild
/var/db/pkg/sys-apps/sandbox-0.1/sandbox-0.1.ebuild unmerge', this will
put portage in the state it was before.
Please, those who have a moment to spare, test this so that any feature
requests can be implemented and bugs can be resolved.
Best regards,
Geert
