To anyone still on this list,

I've updated GNAP to build again with GCC 4.4.1 from the hardened overlay. 
It's still uclibc based and not much else changed. For more detail please see:

http://dev.gentoo.org/~jaervosz/gnap/mainpage.html

It's been running stable on my router Soekris box for a few days now without 
any problems.

Great news! I managed GNAP to build in this summer, but I am not able to continue my work on it til January 2010... Also kernel patch for RB600A is available so it will be interesting to get something working with GNAP. But problem is that we are still facing problems with Gentoo infrustructure, mainly Catalyst. I think we cant get wider audience when facing with such problems, building problems:/

happy to hears good news :)

sadly i dont have time with real-life work for gnap (i'm still using
old-good gnap), so any update will be great welcome

Is that the old uclibc by Koon or the slightly newer glibc one?

both, but for some reasons i use uclib more often
