Subject: [gentoo-user] When to prefer Ext4 over Ext3
Date: Fri, 17 Jul 2009 09:15:08 +0200 (CEST)	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <tkrat.0b543e688ab270d4@igpm.rwth-aachen.de> (raw)

Hi,

I have to install some brand new machines (with Gentoo, of course)
What are the advantages of using Ext4 partitions over Ext3 ones.
Has anybody verified that the recent version of app-arch/dump can
handle Ext4 partitions (of how do backup Ext4 partitions fast -
tar is much to slow)

Many thanks for some hints or pointers,
Helmut.
