If this is unknown, then give 2.6 + gentoo a whirl..... One of the strongest reasons to use 2.6 + Gentoo, is the ease at which you can get the latest things installed and working. It's a bit of a learning curve, but well worth the effort. If you find gentoo difficult, that's all the better, because it shows us what we really do not understand and provides an excellent opportunity to learn, get help, and make new friends....
