I just (finally!) got all my needed services up and running at boot time, and it's *fast*. Rebooting and shutdown are lightning fast now, a matter of five seconds or so. Cool :) I actually wrote some systemd unit files for myself and debugged them mostly by trying random variations on the basic theme. I'm very sure that openrc would have been as bad or worse if I'd needed to write the scripts myself. You Lennart haters out there (and I was one of you not so long ago ;) now I think he's not so bad after all. He just doesn't know yet how to explain things properly to old farts.
