(Only temporarily, of course ;) However, I just emerged the unstable version (0.5.3-r1) which works well. You can try adding this line to /etc/portage/package.keywords and emerge w3m again: www-client/w3m ~amd64 (or ~x86, or whatever is appropriate for you)
