The composite extension is not necessary for AIGLX or XGL.&nbsp; Leaving it disabled is fine.&nbsp; Follow the directions at <a href="http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_AIGLX">http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_AIGLX</a> for more information.<br>

hi<br>AFAIK, the proprietary ati drivers don't support compositing and the xorg drivers don't support dri for r400 chipsets<br>i.e. aiglx doesn't work for the xpress 200m :(<br>i've read somewhere that xorg is working on dri for r300 &amp; r400 chipsets. we have to be patient.
