Hello,

I need to convert a folder of Tiff images into text files. I have tried to
emerge --gocr but in the man it says that it only supports certain formats.
Have anyone ever accomplished this?

you could use "convert" (media-gfx/imagemagick) to convert them to the
required format.

all right I have converted the tif image to pgm and then ran gocr on it.

It recognized about 95% of the characters. This is a printed document from
word so why isn't it 100%? Would you suggest a font and/or size of text.
As well should I be converting the tif to a specif format that works
better? There is very little documentation and any help would be greatly
appreciated.
