I thought there is a kind of mask named "mask by KEYWORDS" :) Well, whatever, I add "=sys-devel/gcc-3.4.4" to /etc/portage/packae.unmask and find that gcc-3.3.6 still is to be emerged: # emerge -ept system | grep gcc [ebuild N ] sys-devel/gcc-3.3.6 [ebuild N ] sys-devel/gcc-3.4.4 [ebuild N ] sys-devel/gcc-config-1.3.11-r4 And from the tree output, I find that gcc-3.4.4 is listed as a dependence of gcc-3.3.6. ??? What further I need to do to get rid of installing gcc-3.3.6 in my system? -- Qiangning Hong I'm usually annoyed by IDEs because, for instance, they don't use VIM as an editor. Since I'm hooked to that, all IDEs I've used so far have failed to impress me. -- Sybren Stuvel @ c.l.python Get Firefox! -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
