That is sort of a circular problem.  It doesn't want it, then it does.  Thoughts?  Could it be that one of the other packages is still using py2.7 and it needs to be disabled for them as well?  I would think emerge would catch that and tell you that is what it needs but maybe not.  It may not even be something you can toggle with a USE flag for some reason. 

That's the only thing I can think of at the moment.  Maybe someone else has a idea or it will hit me while I'm killing weeds in the garden.  You know how it is.  You think about something when you are doing something else.  lol
