Hi all,
Sorry for being off topic, but, does anybody know how to copy a mixed
media CD (music + files)?
And I am talking about a 1:1 low level (exact?) copy, without creating
a toc file to be used by cdrdao.
I have looked at the cdrdao man page, but I guess I may not be
understanding everything said there correctly.
Thanks,
- AR

K3b has a clone cd option, and from what I understand, it should do what
you want.

The closest I've come to making 1:1 copies of plain audio cd's on linux is cdrdao with the read-cd and write commands. I never tried to verify if it was in fact a 1:1 copy but it seems like it. Maybe that technique works for mixed mode cd's also (cdrdao seems so support mixed mode).

Hi,
Don't you have to create a toc file when using read-cd?
I remember that there was a "clone" cd program in Linux, I am just not
sure if it is cdrdao or not.
Thank you. I'll try cdrdao with different options.

What's wrong with creating a toc file? The cdrdao manpage says that a toc-file "can be used to make a more or less exact copy of the CD".

Nothing wrong at all with creating a toc file.
I may be missing something here, but the idea of running a command to
"clone" a cd in one shot kind of makes sense, doesn't it? :-)
toc file it is then...
Thank you,
- AR

i missed most of the thread, but does this not work?
cdrdao copy --device 0,0,0 --driver generic-mmc --source-device 0,1,0
--source-driver generic-mmc --on-the-fly --speed 24
or whatever values for the devices, drivers and speed...
man cdrdao
