Attempting to update/world this wee= kend I get:

=C2=A0

=C2=A0

# emerge -uDv @world

=C2=A0

These are the packages that would b= e merged, in order:

=C2=A0

Calculating dependencies... done!

=C2=A0

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy = "kde-apps/kdebase-runtime-meta:5" have been masked.

!!! One of the following masked pac= kages is required to complete your request:

- kde-apps/kdebase-runtime-meta-16.= 04.2::gentoo (masked by: package.mask, ~amd64 keyword)

- kde-apps/kdebase-runtime-meta-15.= 12.3::gentoo (masked by: package.mask)

=C2=A0

(dependency required by "kde-b= ase/kdebase-startkde-4.11.22-r1::gentoo" [ebuild])

(dependency required by "@sele= cted" [set])

(dependency required by "@worl= d" [argument])

=C2=A0

I have all of KDE:5 masked since I = think installing it sounds too risky. Checking the kdebase-startkde-4.11.22= -r1 ebuild it has a dependency on kde-apps/kdebase-runtime-meta:5. Is this = a mistake? Has anyone found a solution to this?

=C2=A0

Thanks

Robin

=E2=80=8BRobin,

My ugly hack on this to keep on kde4 wit= houth pulling frameworks 5:

1) use a local overlay
2) locate=C2=A0kactivitymanagerd-4.13.3-r1.ebuild (in=C2=A0= /var/db/pkg/k= de-plasma/kactivitymanagerd-4.13.3-r1)
3) put the kactivitymanagerd-4.13.3-r1.ebuild into=C2=A0=E2= =80=8B/usr/local/por= tage/kde-plasma/kactivitymanagerd/=C2=A0
=E2=80=8B4) add =C2=A0a =E2=80=8B
SLOT=3D"5"
=E2=80=8B line to the ebuild
5) add a unmask =E2=80= =8Bline
=3Dkde-plasma/kactivitymanagerd-4.13.3-r1
= =E2=80=8B to /et=E2=80=8Bc/package.unmask

=
=E2=80=8BI need 5) because I mask =E2=80=8Ball kd= e-plasma/* packages
