I've just built a machine based on GA-880-GM-UD2H that I bought a couple of years ago, and it works well. It supports 1090T and 1100T, which you should look at - the price difference to the 1075T is very small. I'm thinking of swapping out the 260 I have with one of these because they're so cheap. WRT hardware support - the rule of thumb is, if you're running newly released hardware you'll probably want to run the latest kernel you can - which is easy with Gentoo. AFAIK distros dont do much around extra hardware support other than backporting newer drivers (to support newly released hardware) on their specific kernel version. Obviously there's no need for that on Gentoo.
