[gentoo-user] unwanted cursor change

Yesterday, I updated to  gtk+-3.14.9 ,
which required installation of  x11-themes/adwaita-icon-theme .
This new unwanted pkg created a dir under /usr/share/cursors/xorg-x11
& a symbolic link 'default->Adwaita', which changed my mouse cursor.
Not liking the new cursor, I did some research, found the dir responsible,
did 'mv default default-dft', restarted X & restored the old cursor.

This looks to me like a bug.  Does anyone have comments before I file it ?

Yesterday, I also updated to gtk+-3.14.9.
x11-themes/adwaita-icon-theme-3.14.1 also was installed anew.
The link /usr/share/cursors/xorg-x11/default -> Adwaita also present on my system.
But I do not see any change in my mouse cursor.

Well, may be, I have a very short visual memory and the cursor really was white
with black canvas, while now it is black with white canvas...

But if it is the only change, it really is for the better
because now it is more visible on the white background.

(And I do not use dark background, so cannot say how it looks on it.)

So, I see no need to file a bug.

P.S. I use xfce4.

Yeah, I don't think any cursor package should be setting the default on 
its own.

Looks like a bug. Most people don't notice because they have a cursor 
theme set in the preferences of their desktop environment and thus the 
"default" symlink does nothing. But that doesn't mean it should be set 
by a package.

I have had to revert cursor changes more than once, so it is at least
an annoyance. I'm not sure how a bug report would be taken as it's
probably intended behavior :)
