Re-emerge finished, and now no more errors, only some warnings:
+ The same "unwind-dw2-fde.c" warning as before
+ If I have issues with 'libstdc++.la', I should run
'fix_libtool_files.sh' on the old gcc versions

I'm crossing my fingers... let's hope the system is not hosed :-)
