What is this saying?  That I need to locate a use flag "static-libs" and
change it for package libgcrypt?  Presumably it is libgcrypt which is
dissatisfied.  I'm having difficulty parsing the mssage.

Next question: what should I do about it?

Hello Alan,

You should: nano /etc/make.conf

and add the flag: static-libs

USE="static-libs"

Then try again: emerge -uDvaN world
