I just checked my system and found that there is no V86d utility.
 It is wired because I remember the vesa option was chosen
 by default  :-(  . What should I do now? Should I rebuild my kernel or
 compiled vesa into module ?

Is vesafb/uvesafb* compiled in?

*needs v86d and initrd with /sbin/v86d in it
