In the process I discovered what appears to be a bunch of old versions of perl-related things. In /usr/lib/perl5, there are subdirectories over 4 years old. Here's the complete list 5.8.2 5.8.4 5.8.5 5.8.6 5.8.7 5.8.8 site_perl vendor_perl The current perl version is 5.8.8. The versions 5.8.2 and 5.8.4 date from 2004.
