Hey all,

I've been trying to get Thunderbird to build fo= r a few days now=2E
Since I'm pretty much out of ideas at this point,= I figured I'd ask on here
if someone has an idea on what my problem = is=2E

I've attached the output of `emerge --info
'=3Dmai= l-client/thunderbird-52=2E3=2E0::gentoo'`, `emerge -pqv
'=3Dmail-clie= nt/thunderbird-52=2E3=2E0::gentoo'`, and the complete build log=2E
From the error message I can see that it likely has something to do wi= th
either libpng or zlib=2E I have both of those installed:
$ emerge --info libpng
--- >8 ---
media-libs/libpng-1=2E= 6=2E29::gentoo was built with the following:
USE=3D"apng (-neon)= -static-libs" ABI_X86=3D"32 (64) (-x32)" CPU_FLAGS_X86=3D&q= uot;sse"

$ emerge --info zlib
--- >8 ---
s= ys-libs/zlib-1=2E2=2E11::gentoo was built with the following:
USE=3D&= quot;minizip -static-libs" ABI_X86=3D"32 (64) (-x32)"
=

I noticed that I have zlib-1=2E2=2E11 installed, though Thund= erbird (or libpng?)
is apparently trying to reference a symbol from z= lib 1=2E2=2E9=2E I tried
downgrading to zlib 1=2E2=2E9, but=2E=2E=2E<= br />
# emerge --ask \=3Dsys-libs/zlib-1=2E2=2E9

These = are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating d= ependencies=2E=2E=2E done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds to sat= isfy "=3Dsys-libs/zlib-1=2E2=2E9"=2E

I'd real= ly appreciate any hints on what I'm doing wrong here=2E Thanks!

Regards,
Christoph

I= believe you should re-emerge libpng because it seems to have been built against an old (and incompatible) version of zlib (1=2E2=2E9)=2E
<= br />I hope this helps

Stefano

Thanks for the suggestion Stephano=2E I tried re-emerg= ing libpng and running a clean Thunderbirs build overnight, however it stil= l fails with the same message=2E
