There appear to be packages requiring various particular versions of util-linux, like 2.20 and 2.16, and there's no more recent apcupsd available, so at least version 2.23 is required. Something similar seems to be going on for sysvinit with openrc and apcupsd requiring different versions of it. -- Again we must be afraid of speaking of daemons for fear that daemons might swallow us. Finally, this fear has become reasonable.
