If you use GCC <3.4.3, there is no pentium-m arch, you need to use pentium3. Using GCC 3.4.3 or later, you might want to try -march=3Dpentium-m. Those CFLAGS are known to be safe: CFLAGS=3D"-O2 -march=3Dpentium3 -pipe -mfpmath=3Dsse" CXXFLAGS=3D"${CFLAGS}" ..................................... But I had forgotten to make the change when switching to gcc-3.4. Now I did it...
