Oh, I forgot one thing. Instead of (hdX,X) in grub.conf, you use
(cd). For example:
title 2.6
kernel (cd)/boot/vmlinuz-2.6 root=/dev/hdc
Of course, your kernel must have support for your CD-ROM drive and the
iso9660 filesystem built in...
