Subject: [gentoo-user] Where does /etc/env.d/99local come from?
Date: Fri, 5 Aug 2005 20:29:43 +1000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <7093dffb05080503297e7e51cf@mail.gmail.com> (raw)
I recently changed my gentoo's ip address from 192.168.2.40 to
192.168.0.40. I did a "grep" in /etc and changed all instances in
/etc.
I note the following in /etc/env.d/99local:
http_proxy="http://192.168.2.40:3128"
ftp_proxy="ftp://192.168.2.40:3128"
My question:
Is this file automatically created or is it user-defined? I don't
remember ever creating it or editing it. Should I put my own
environment variables in here or should I use /etc/profile?
