Is /dev/t= tyUSB0 as=20 functional as a regular /etc/ttyS0? I have a USB to serial adapter that use= s the=20 pl2303 driver, and have

adam@absydos ~/.wine/dosdevices $ ls -ltotal=20 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 adam users 12 May  9 04:08 com1 ->=20 /dev/ttyUSB0

But it do= esnt appear=20 to work. Similarly mapping ttyUSB0 to com1 in vmware fails, but if i=20 connect the usb adapter to a vmware windows guest and add the windows= =20 driver it works. So;
- should = it=20 work?
- will ot= her USB to=20 serial adapter with better linux drivers work?
- or will= i have to=20 try a PCCard serial adapter?
