Yes, I do seem to be using xorg.conf:

dragonfly ~ # grep xorg.conf /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(=3D=3D) Using config file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf"
dragonfly ~ #

I've not searched the forums yet so I'll go there before filing a bug.
