I think if you don't use any of those other programs then you don't need them, and if you install anything that needs them it'll pull them in automatically. :) They're mostly low-level utilities. If your system is working as-is then I don't think you'll be missing out on anything by leaving it alone (after putting xorg-server into your world file of course).
