hello, every gentooer

Has anyone use kdbus with gentoo? I built and installed the latest kdbus
with gentoo-sources 4.3.6.
But after one day use of the system, a lot of memory was eaten by it.
Does someone meat the same problem? or any hints appreciated!

kdbus was discontinued back in October, so it shouldn't be used at all
as far as I know.

yes. it was not updated later any only support linux kernel 4.3 branch.
it seems kdbus can speed up communication, why not actively devel and update?

It will come back in some different form.  Linus supports the concept
of improved IPC in Linux which was the intent of kdbus.  There were
apparently just a number of issues with the overall design which has
led to it being abandoned in its current form.

The concept of dbus/policykit/etc is a very good one, and I don't know
too many who object to it at that level.  At a conceptual level it
lets ANY piece of software expose services to the system and allow
administrators to control who is allowed to access which services in a
generic way.  At some level it is a more sane replacement for
/etc/sudoers and POSIX capabilities for routine use.

While there is general interest in a better design, Linus believes it
is in fact needed and intends to merge the ultimate result.  The
concern is with the design of kdbus itself, not the concept.  It is
just a more rigorous form of IPC.

hm, back then and everytime kdbus came up on lkml the consensus was
'speed? you do it for speed? Get userspace dbus in order and the speed
argument collapses'. Pretty much everybody also voiced problems with
security (none) and the statefulness of dbus.

All problems, blissfully ignored by the kdbus bunch.
