Subject: [gentoo-user] Firefox-bin GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed
Date: Wed, 11 Nov 2015 11:38:27 -0700 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <56438B23.2000307@sys-concept.com> (raw)
After upgrading to firefox-bin-38.3.0 when I try to start one of the profiles I get an error message:
(process:17154): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed
(process:17154): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed
console.error:
[CustomizableUI]
Custom widget with id loop-button does not return a valid node
console.error:
[CustomizableUI]
Custom widget with id loop-button does not return a valid node
Terminated
The CPU goes 100% and I have to kill the process.
I was trying to downgrade to the version that worked OK for me: Firefox-bin-38.1.1
but it is no longer in portage. When I try to pull it down from attic and make a manifest it failed as well:
ebuild /usr/local/portage/www-client/firefox-bin/firefox-bin-38.1.1.ebuild manifest
>>> Downloading 'ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases//38.1.1esr/linux-i686/xpi/gl.xpi'
--2015-11-11 11:24:12-- ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases//38.1.1esr/linux-i686/xpi/gl.xpi
=> ‘/usr/portage/distfiles/firefox-38.1.1esr-gl.xpi’
Resolving ftp.mozilla.org... 54.230.143.163
It seems to me it can not find: firefox-38.1.1esr-gl.xpi
Is "www-client/chromium" good alternative to firefox?
