Now you argue against yourself. You said earlier:

Now that is simply not true, because there is no such requirement and
your "by definition" does not exist in fact.
There are at least two general meanings for default:
1. The one you get if you don't say otherwise.
2. The initial start point, which is fully supported and you can always
expect it to work.
I'm using the first definition. You are using the second. And in this
post you appear to be trying to bring it around that the first must
imply the second. That is just not true.
