Once you get the hang of it and start to understand what portage tells you with it's output, it's hard to get away from it. The community here is very helpful and will walk you through any difficulties you run into. But one word of warning - you need to do your homework first and make an attempt to help yourself. Those same helpful people can become not-so-helpful if you don;t put in the work yourself :-) But hey, that's true of geeks everywhere :-) Oh, welcome to gentoo-land!
