Thanks. That did it.
box0=; grep sources /var/lib/portage/world
sys-kernel/gentoo-sources
sys-kernel/gentoo-sources:3.8.13

Once I decide I no longer need 'gentoo-sources-3.8.13', would it be
enough just to remove the corresponding line from
'/var/lib/portage/world', or is there a better way of doing it?
