Now that you mention it, I found this line at the tail end of dmesg:

[12006045.183173] plasma-desktop[12552]: segfault at 0 ip
00007f2033f3279c sp 00007fff1d43be10 error 4 in
libQtDeclarative.so.4.8.4[7f2033d75000+3a2000]

I think I see the problem.  I bet KDE 4.10 needs a newer qt set.  Going
to check on that now.
