Good pointer. Somehow I managed to screw-up, kdm was still in world file even though not in the system. Removing kdm from world solved the problem. Let emerge rebuild things that where built with kde USE flag but not needed anymore then go back and use the -t option to see what is left. I think I see what you are doing but not 100% sure. Run "eselect profile list" and make sure you don't have the "desktop/kde" profile slected. If an atom has a 'k' in it, I don't go near it. The only way I would do so would be if I had a lot of time to waste and made up a KDE box for the fun of it. It's just a crapload of trouble that I left behind when I made the switch from Windows. I don't want to go back toward that kind of crapware, I want to go in the 'opposite' direction. With my knowledge of the cli improving every day, I'm virtually free of all dependence on a gui at this point, and that's a good place to be, IME. :) I hear talk about using KDE to impress Windows people.
