I'm making backups of my store-bought DVDs to my hard drive. I'm not totally clear on how scrambled DVDs work, but I can tell you that the dd command alone doesn't work, but adding lsdvd at the front does. Also, my "The Life of Mammals" DVD won't play back in mplayer or totem, but VLC plays it fine either straight from the DVD or from the hard drive after lsdvd+dd. - Grant -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
