you must reconfigure your xorg.conf file
in the screen section...
here is my config...
..
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "nVidia 6800 GT"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
Subsection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1600x1200"
ViewPort 0 0 # initial origin if mode is smaller than desktop

if you dont want to do it manually just run /usr/bin/xorgconfig again
