Hello!

When I called "bc -l", I used to be able to do proper divisions,
ie. 1/4 returned 0.25. But now:

alexander@blatt /all $ bc -l
bc 1.06.94
Copyright 1991-1994, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2004, 2006 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
This is free software with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.
For details type `warranty'.
1/4
0

sys-devel/bc-1.06.94

Any idea what's going wrong here?

Thanks,

Alexander Skwar

Same here, I put =sys-devel/bc-1.06.94 in /etc/portage/package.mask.

Yes, this is a known bug. 1.06.95 will fix this issuet, but that might
take a while, since the bug is known since june.

http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136643

The stable version 1.06-r6 is working fine, so I suggest you
downgrade.

1.06.95 is in portage now and the problem is indeed fixed.
