Edit /etc/make.conf and add/change "ACCEPT_KEYWORDS" to
"~your-architecture". For example:
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" #means x86 stable
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" #means x86 testing
Then "emerge --sync && emerge -Neav world"
