Hi Listees,
What would be the drive numbers that I would need to replace this:
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
if I have Windows installed on /dev/sda1 rather than /dev/hda1? I can't
find it in the docs I have read.
TIA

hda vs sda has nothing to do with the drive numbering. It is based on
the BIOS drive mapping. The first bootable hard drive is hd0, the
second is hd1, etc.

It remains the same, no matter if sda1 or hda1, hd0 stands for your
first hdd, ,0 after stands for partition, 0 = first partition, in your
case /dev/sda1

Hi
Have a look at your /boot/grub/device.map.

...and understand that this has no effect on the hd0, hd1 etc ordering
of the BIOS. It needs to reflect the BIOS ordering, but doesn't
change it.
