Hi,
I updated my wife's machine this morning to use 2.6.13-gentoo-r2.
Since her machine is a P4-HT I tried turning on SMP support. The
kernel built fine but when I rebooted I had no keyboard or mouse.
Rebuilding the kernel with SMP turned off allowed the mouse and
keybaord to work fine.

Is this a known issue? Any better solutions, short of what I did?

Thanks,
Mark

What did you use for your .config? Did you enable/disable keyboard
mouse support? I have the same processor with HT and SMP enabled, and
it works fine.

No, I made no changes to the config file. Here's the history:

2.6.12-gentoo-r6 -- WORKS

2.6.13-gentoo-r2-SMP -- FAILED

2.6.13-gentoo-r2 -- WORKS

All I did was copy the .config from the original source directory, run
make oldconfig, then make menuconfig, look around, exit, and then make
&& make modules_install.

SMP failed, UMP worked.

Thanks,
Mark
