Going back to your original post: Portage 2.0.51.22-r2 (default-linux/amd64/2005.0, gcc-3.4.3, glibc-2.3.5-r0, 2.6.12-gentoo-r6 x86_64) But maybe you can try to follow their "by hand" instructions for to make sure that everything is sane for your profile.
