Gentoo use Alt+F1,F2,... as default
key combination for virtual console switching,
how to change this combination,
for example to Alt+Shift+F1,F2,....

I dont know how to change these shortcuts, but it seems there the same for
all distro. Note than you can also use mod4 (windows) keys and
mod1(alt)+left/right to switch consoles.

You'd certainly hope that that these key combinations aren't hard coded but it doesn't mention how to change them in the Keyboard-and-Console-HOWTO.
Lots of things seem to be hardcoded inside linux/drivers/char/vt.c which has a set_console function for switching virtual consoles.

As far as I remember from good old days playing with Slackware 3.1 =)
all of them is defined in keyboard layout files.
