Hi all,

I'm having a little problem with kernel 2.6.12.2. When booting, it hangs
for some minutes in the mount filesystem message and while preparing
system for use udev.

All the kernels I compiled since I installed gentoo on my laptop, from
2.6.8.1 and beyond didn't have this problem.

Are you also getting this or it is just me?

I do not have this problem. I have a problem with 2.6.12.x and kde after login. There it hangs for a few minutes and I cannot find any
error messages.

Once I had a problem like that (slow kde login) and it was because I didn't have my hostname next to localhost in /etc/hosts.
