For this notebook I have a portreplicator with two external monitors connected (one DVI + one VGA). I'm using the ati-driver-8.24.8 (in PORTDIR_OVERLAY as it no more exists in the official portage tree) and have ">x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.24.8" in /etc/portage/package.mask. I need this version as all the newer once that I have tested causes the notebook to hard hang when I start X and the Open-source radeon driver will not work with the two external monitors. Today when I did an "emerge --sync" and "emerge -uDvNp world" I'm getting the following error message: Calculating world dependencies | !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.27.10" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - - x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.27.10-r1 (masked by: package.mask) - - x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.28.8 (masked by: package.mask, ~x86 keyword) - - x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.29.6 (masked by: package.mask, ~x86 keyword) For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook. !!! Problem resolving dependencies for media-sound/xmms !!! Depgraph creation failed.
