Let's start again.
I waited until this morning, used webmail to check that the ISP had emails
for me (20 in fact) and tried Get Mail in claws again.
After doing so, claws.log now shows one conversation, exactly the same as
above. So webmail shows 20 emails for me and the claws conversation shows
none.
That is my problem: I must have something wrong in my claws setup. Sorry
about my vagueness before.
