I guess -r4 is keyworded for a reason, so - maybe downgrade?

  I had a look at the ebuild files. fltk-1.3.3-r3.ebuild mentions
"fluid" in src_install(). But fltk-1.3.3-r4.ebuild mentions "fluid" in
multilib_src_compile() (specifically...
        if multilib_is_native_abi; then
                emake -C fluid
                use doc && emake -C documentation html
                use games && emake -C test ${FLTK_GAMES}
        fi

  "fluid" is also mentioned in...
multilib_src_test()
multilib_src_install()
multilib_src_install_all()

  IANAD (I Am Not A Developer), but to me it reads like the "-r4"
ebuild requires multilib to generate fluid. OUCH! You should file a
bug report on the -r4 ebuild. Why would they allow fluid only on
multilib machines for -r4 if it worked on -r3? Was that an oversight?

Why does -r4 failed to build fluid (see my previous post) ?

  My amateur analysis is that -r4 ebuild is set to only build "fluid" if
you have a multilib profile. The -r3 ebuild doesn't care whether or not
you have a multilib profile.

I finally figured out, why -r3 does not build on my system:
My CFLAGS say "-f openmp" and fltk does not like that (missed
to include the OpenMP library then).

  I've tested this on my system; "default/linux/amd64/13.0/no-multilib"
profile. I get fluid when building "-r3" but not when building "-r4".
I've filed bug https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=595246 so that it
can be fixed before "-r4" goes stable.

  Bug https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=595246 has been fixed. I
don't know how long it'll take to show up in Portage.
