Although with metadata 0.90 I was able to progress with the installation=20 (after I deselected the swap partitions) the grub-install script wanted to= =20 install in /dev/md127p1 but it failed. I had to override the Ubuntu instal= ler=20 since I could only install grub in the /dev/md127 block device. BTW, I'm=20 still at a loss as to why for Ubuntu the RAID 1 is seen as /dev/md127 and n= ot=20 /dev/md0 which I created originally with sysrescuecd. Either way, it won't boot again. Now it stays on a blank screen, no error = at=20 all shown. I'll have another go with sysrescueCD to see if I install grub = on=20 /dev/sda and /dev/sdb and if this does not work either, I'll stop wasting t= ime=20 and follow your suggestion of installing on a single disk first, before I=20 mirror it thereafter. =2D-=20 Regards, Mick --nextPart2229321.DnRR4MeRs9 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.22 (GNU/Linux) iQEcBAABAgAGBQJSZZ/rAAoJELAdA+zwE4YejmoH/2mkJCibQQ2H4wVGKa0nUPlj pC7Qum2+UvWv3gpQH/bc9ZxHVvQLj2RbcNZiRfkpezCtD2qFEzsImvNfMVwp5Bx5 MMDUJjTlrX4wJZb5ilCDil+VMHPQ+g1qZAg7tsnG9SmXKb0/rAKgwUldQsbKxDJW A+3KTBIdopRadrNzYFmOmrzyxgDCcjdU7fE/HMyGC+1wXS5Pe3ZWkPvgFvv2lfjy CPeRL1YqvPbRVy8FUDLuuxvdwk9ibbRoFBToGw7WPmabuqMljCri4sIyMh5tk+dN pxCr0vGjkT4IHLh4gKaU/IDLZyZip2nc8vpkya4WTqXmxitlnZgL/3U7TOTIxx4= =f6PQ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart2229321.DnRR4MeRs9--
