I was about to have another rant about KDE4 and its hardwired semantic
database design concept, but this won't help any. ;-)

Adding /usr/lib/mysql to /etc/ld.so.conf and running ldconfig, as I read here
did it for me.

It's also worth pointing out that this doesn't only affect KDE. It breaks
a lot of programs that use libmysql* - motion failed here.
