The former is a Gtk+ program, so runs natively under GNOME, Xfce and LXDE, while the latter is a Qt suite that runs natively under KDE. Both are *way* slicker than Emacs or vim, but do require a graphical desktop. [Both vim and Emacs can run in a text console.] You might also start reading comp.os.linux.development.apps on Usenet, if you don't already do so. --=20 Regards, Dave [RLU #314465] *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* dwnoon@ntlworld.com (David W Noon) *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* --Sig_/wIw5QyM9GUrqA_yAMyjZHhV Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=signature.asc -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.17 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAk5ySu0ACgkQc9/LpQ70v4+WUACeLRgyetMYmq2Dz1wNLBPxvq80 TvkAn0X50Mzd8l/wypfH621lZLU2kNUf =r16q -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Sig_/wIw5QyM9GUrqA_yAMyjZHhV--
